(Revised 11/22)
Note: Our current recreation center is Colony Recreation Center. Our current Authorized Facilities’ Agents is Tom Perry.
Committee Chair or Host: The chair or host obtains volunteers, ensures the recreation center rules are followed, performs an initial recreation center room walk-through, signs the recreation center’s legal form, ensures that all cleaning is done after an event, collects receipts, and submits a Social’s Expense Report.
Greeters: Greeters, stationed at the entrance of the event, greet the guests, direct the placement of food items on the tables, encourage the purchase of 50/50 tickets, direct donations of pantry food items to their specified boxes, and introduce new neighbors to others so they will feel welcome.
Microphone Host: The host is responsible for welcoming everyone, asking for new neighbors to introduce themselves (name, where from, where they live now), lead or have someone lead the Pledge of Allegiance, announce the 50/50 raffle winners, thank the committee, and close the event.
Supply Procurer(s): The Procurer(s), usually limited to one or two persons, checks inventory and shops to replenish supplies.
Raffle Ticket Sellers: The sellers sells 50/50 tickets, keeps track of the money, sets aside half of the sales for the raffle prizes (amounts determined by the amount of money collected) and gives the other half to the event’s host to be used towards the following month’s social expenses.
Committee Members: The Committee Members go to the recreation center at least 45 minutes early to setup tablecloths, plastic ware, and check the coffee and water. Given the current recreation center rules, this can start as early as 5:30 pm. The committee stays after the event to clean up, however the tables and chairs are put away by the recreation center staff only.
Authorized Facilities’ Agents: These agents sign the contract for the room and are responsible for disseminating the rules and making sure everyone is aware of their responsibilities.
